How much is your Home Theater costs?

I was wondering is there anybody here that spend a lot of money on Home Theater ?

I personally only have a TV and Micro Hifi with 5 speakers. Is it worth it to spend money on it ? I'm talking about spending over $ 2000 for it.

I am planning to give away my old home theater and buy a new one for say a maximum of $1600. I think some good models are available.

People with high passion for sound won't stop until they got it right. No matter how much the money they spent. For me home theater is just for viewing movie and playing my favourite songs. So it's not that expensive.

It depends on a couple things. 1) Can you afford it? Seriously, answer this question first. 2) How much can you afford? I've helped a bunch of friends shop for TV's and such. Once you have your budget, then decide what you want and why you want it.

I don't have kids and a good job, so I was able to go get a few things that my friends can't get due to their other expense committments. I didn't buy everything at once, so I could make sure I got the best deal possible, I bought a great 7.1 receiver when it was half price at Best Buy - right after christmas, my speakers at Circuit City when they had a sale on Polk speakers shortly before they went out of business, and purchased an HD-DVD player when they had a close out sale. I paid full price on the Xbox Slim and PS3, but got a good deal on my 52" Mitz DLP and stand (which I paid for by selling a Wayne Gretzky card on Ebay). My bedroom 42" Sony LCD was an after Christmas sale by PC Richard, and the 5.1 Surround sound was a cheap system I picked up at Sam's club. The Blu-Ray was an online sale special at Amazon and the Xbox Slim for the bedroom was purched by trade in credits at Game Stop.

I think there must be available less than 2000$ but that is depend on your choice so just compare the prizes and features on some comparison sites that is the right way to purchase any electronic product.
